What a privilege.
Being invited to attend and cover the ByBorre Edition 7 launch is something I could’ve only dreamed about doing when I first moved to Japan.
Then it became a reality when I accidentally met the brands namesake: Borre Akkersdijk and CEO Arnoud Haverlag at TRUNK Hotel.
Two down-to-earth, bright, fun individuals taking huge strides in the right direction when it comes to running a textile brand responsibly and sustainably. Two words which are being bandied around a lot these days by many brands, slowly rendering them less relevant and less meaningful - the difference with ByBorre however is that they don’t take them lightly and have been actively pursuing all avenues across all areas of the business to uphold their values.
The event was executed perfectly and the effectiveness of the visual merchandising was profound - highlighting all areas of the process of textile creation and usability with fun, experiential displays.
